Why Genomics

“c-Seven provided us with a modern and clean website that was very easy to navigate. They gave us the tools we required to interact with the public and educate people about the incredible benefits of genomics research. The new site is a huge success, and we couldn't be happier with the work c-Seven did.”

- Alastair Harris-Cartwright, Manager, Corporate Communications,
Ontario Genomics Institute

Challenge

There’s tons of misinformation circulating about the role of genomics.

The OGI (the Ontario Genomics Institute) wanted a website to correct the record and raise awareness about the benefits of genomic research in agriculture, the environment and health.

OGI also wanted a site that could:

  • promote multiple events
  • share interesting news
  • engage visitors to help foster goodwill

Solution

c-Seven designed a website that relied on clean, easy navigation to funnel visitors through to each page.

To help visitors access specific answers, we custom-built a database of questions and answers all housed in an easy FAQ format.

The database also allowed visitors to submit questions that could later be reviewed and answered by the OGI directly.

c-Seven went beyond a basic blog system and created an engagement tool that allowed multiple authors and topics, targeted newsletters, event promotion and allowed for Genomics to manipulate content at the touch of a button.

Results

The new design is a hit with visitors.

More importantly, the easy to use CMS, blog and custom built FAQ database allows genomics to engage and build their online community easier and more quickly than before.
